Premier olive pressing dinner in our charming Trattoria: once again due to high demand we will have two gourmet dinners featuring Fulvio's newly pressed olive oil. Fulvio will harvest a small amount of olives in early October, which he’ll take to be pressed and the bounty will be paired with a special oil themed dinner.

This autumn, starting 23 September 2016 and running till 22 January 2017, Palazzo Strozzi in Florence will present Italy’s first major retrospective dedicated to one of the world’s most celebrated and influential contemporary artists: Ai Weiwei. Libero
A dissident artist with a leading voice, Ai Weiwei is known world-wide as much for his challenging contemporary art practice as for his political activism. Ai Weiwei will be the first artist to exhibit across the entirety of the Palazzo Strozzi spaces, presenting a series of new and major works from the façade of the building and the courtyard to the piano nobile and the Strozzina gallery. Mirroring the artist’s relationship between tradition and modernity, key works will be hung in response to the architecture of the Palazzo Strozzi, a 15th century palace built as a political statement, and is considered to embody the history of the city of Florence.

Jan Fabre. Spiritual Guards

The exhibition, entitled Jan Fabre. Spiritual Guards, promoted by the Comune di Firenze, will pan out between the Forte Belvedere, Palazzo Vecchio and Piazza della Signoria. In fact, it will be one of the most complex and multifaceted exhibitions that this Flemish artist and author has ever produced in any public space in Italy. For the very first time, a living artist will be expounding his art in three venues of outstanding historical and artistic importance at once. Roughly one hundred of Fabre’s works dating from 1978 to 2016 will be on display, including bronze and wax sculptures, performance films and works made of wing cases of the jewel scarab. Fabre will also be presenting two new works specifically devised and produced for this occasion.

The Sagra della Castagna is always a great event and is held right next to the Pierle Castle. Join the Borgo team and many owners who gather to visit this VERY local celebration each year - just 2 kilometres from Borgo di Vagli. A country gastronomic festival, featuring local food (roasted chestnuts), dance, music and more. A tradition in your backyard - not to be missed. See you there!!!
